Program Basics
What is 2X Points?
2X Points is a card-linked rewards program that lets you earn points for every dollar you spend at participating merchants. You also earn extra points when you redeem special offers in-store or online, automatically, with no coupons or codes required.
How does 2X Points work?
- Link your Visa or Mastercard credit card during signup.
- Pay with that card at participating businesses.
- Visa or Mastercard securely notifies us when you make a qualifying purchase.
- Points are added to your 2X Points account based on:
- Points per dollar spent
- Bonus points from special offers
- Additional promotional multipliers
Everything happens automatically, just use your linked card as usual.
Is there a cost to join?
No. The 2X Points program is completely free for members.
How do I enroll?
Link your credit card during signup. Enrollment takes 2–3 minutes, and your card is activated immediately.
Does 2X Points affect the rewards from my credit card?
No. 2X Points is separate from your credit card’s rewards program.
You keep your existing card points, miles, or cash back and earn your 2X Points rewards on top. This is why it’s called 2X Points, your rewards stack!
You may add multiple cards, but we recommend linking one primary card, ideally the card that earns the most rewards from your bank.
This lets you maximize both your credit card rewards and your 2X Points rewards on every purchase.
Who operates the 2X Points program?
2X Points operates the program in partnership with participating merchants and brands.
Our secure card-linking technology is powered by PCI-compliant providers, including Olive.
Do I need to share my banking login information?
No. You never provide online banking logins, passwords, or account numbers.
What purchase information does 2XPoints collect?
We receive limited transaction information only for the purpose of awarding points:
- Merchant name
- Date of purchase
- Transaction amount
- Whether the purchase qualifies for an offer
We do not receive:
- Your credit card number
- Bank account access
- Sensitive personal financial details
Your data is never shared or sold.
Is 2X Points secure?
Yes. Your card details are tokenized and stored in a PCI-compliant vault.
2X Points and Olive do not see or store your actual card number.
How do I leave the program?
You can stop participating anytime by:
- Removing your card(s) in Settings > Linked Cards, or
- Closing your account entirely in Settings > Account.
Earning & Redeeming Points
Can I use offers without enrolling a card?
No. You must enroll a credit card to earn points or redeem offers.
Do I need to activate offers?
No activation is needed.
Simply shop or dine using your linked card, and you’ll earn points automatically whenever the offer conditions are met.
Is there a limit on how many points I can earn?
2X Points does not limit your total earnings.
Individual offers may have limits such as:
- One redemption per day
- Weekly or monthly caps
- A maximum dollar reward
Check each offer’s terms for details.
How do bonus offers work?
Bonus offers reward you with extra points when you complete specific actions, such as:
- Spending a minimum amount
- Visiting multiple times
- Buying promoted products or brands
- Making an online purchase through an eligible partner
Points are added automatically once all conditions are met.
How do I track my points?
Your Activity section shows:
- Points earned for each purchase
- Bonus points from special offers
- Pending points
- Total available point balance
Enrolled Card FAQs
Why do I need to enroll a Visa or Mastercard credit card?
2X Points uses secure card network connections from Visa and Mastercard to identify qualifying purchases.
This avoids the need for bank logins or screen scraping and is far safer.
Can I use a debit card?
Not at this time.
2X Points supports Visa and Mastercard credit cards only.
Can I use an American Express card?
Not yet. 2X Points currently supports Visa and Mastercard credit cards only.
Can I enroll more than one card?
Yes. You may add multiple eligible cards.
How do I update my credit card information?
Go to Settings > Linked Cards and select Edit on the card you want to update.
How do I remove a card?
Go to Settings > Linked Cards and click Remove.
Once removed, that card will no longer earn points.
Points & Activity Tracking
When are points issued?
Points typically appear in your account within 24–72 hours after Visa or Mastercard reports the transaction.
How can I view my transaction and points history?
Visit Activity to see:
- Every eligible purchase
- How many points you earned
- Offer bonuses
- Timestamps for each reward
What can I redeem my points for?
You can redeem 2X Points for:
- Cash
- Gift cards
- Local business rewards
- Travel experiences
